Made this one a few days ago, in the afternoon/evening light (explains title). I know it looks a bit unnatural, I guess thats because its made into the sunlight. Oh, and I also tried this very cool colour-option on my camera , but I don't really know what its for XD Anyway, I actually liked this effect so I just kept it this way .
I'm not sure what to say more about this one... hm, ah well, who really cares.
I'll just say it again then: Please full view!
Comments, critiques and favs will be veeeeeery appreciated! Thank you!
EDIT EDIT I submitted this one again, but now I removed the ENTIRE background (since there were still some vague light spots to see). I guess its better this way.

Wow...The lighting in this one is extrodinary. I am amazed of how it looks. The contrast of the darker shadows and then the lighter areas just astounds me... Exellent work!

Wow - you're getting some good use out of that macro lens! And Look at that colour! Holy smokes. What a difference that full view makes!
I love those shadows within the flowers - the contrast is great, and our brains are programmed to like high contrast, but I think that the sequence of yellow-orange shading is the feature that makes the photo so interesting. Imagine if the flowers were just a single tone of yellow or a single orange. Instead, they have shades and shadows and a life of their own. Yellow at the top, then shaded yellow, burnt orange, a spash of green and then an echo of orange again at the stalk - it just draws your eye from up to down and back up. And it looks like you wet the soil before taking the photo? Nice touch.
You said critiques would be appreciated? Ok then, the only suggestion I would make is thinking about your background - that white blur in the background is unfocussed so it is not very noticeable (good I think) (you used a slow film speed and low f-stop?), but perhaps you would have even more impact if you could find a way to have covered it up and left the entire background dark. My thought anyway. But as it is, the foreground is so stunning and the surroundings are so dark overall that the white blur works out ok.
Honestly I think you should just start posting your photos directly to my Favourites section!
just for kicks i tried blacking out the entire background.
it really brings out that gorgeous yellow. i'd post it but i don't want to infringe kelly (nice shot btw)!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
For those who have many watchers, and for those who dont have many, it is hard to know how one retains that interest as well as receive more. This article explores the basics of watchers and how we react to certain situations. Although it does not affect some deviants, and the tips are generally related to common sense, we hope the article is a worthwhile read and that the majority learn something from reading this.
